Sharktribe – A Young -@ -Heart Apparel Brand Launched amidst Glamour & Fashion


Bangalore, 22nd October, 2011: SharkTribe Fashion (India) Private Limited launched its flagship brand – SharkTribe, at the F. Bar & Lounge in the city tonight. Founded by four young friends from Tamil Nadu, SharkTribe Fashion boasts of a unique mix of MBAs and Designers aiming to target the young ‘Gen-Y’ segment.  

The atmosphere at F. Bar & Kitchen proved to be racy as the collections were displayed in a  swanky fashion show choreographed by Sheetal Sharma entertained the guests present. The city’s very own Ramesh Dembla walked the ramp along with actress Meghana much to the delight of the onlookers.  

“We were driven by the desire to create an Indian clothing and fashion brand which would offer quality clothes with great designs at reasonable prices.” said one of the founders Girish Sreevatsan.  

Based out of India’s global apparel hub, Tiruppur (In Tamil Nadu), SharkTribe proposes a unique goal of an Indian clothing brand, which would be at par with the top clothing and fashion brands in the world.
 Bangalore was chosen as the city of choice for the launch of the brand. 

The lead designer, Parishith drew inspirations for the designs mostly from the lifestyle and interests of the Generation-Y. For example, the ‘intoxicated’ t-shirt has many words in the shape of a bottle. All these words are synonymous with the state of being intoxicated.  

Customers can look forward to many such quirky and fun concepts in SharkTribe clothing. One can also find designs based on party life, disco, graffiti, pop-culture, sarcasm etc. The core philosophy of the brand and design ideations can be summed up in one word:  “Regenerate” – symbolizing the breathing of new life into something.


Another founder, Arun laid down the growth plans for SharkTribe fashion. “Initially, our products will be polo t-shirts, round neck t-shirts and hoodies.” he said. “Soon we will be extending our product line with shirts, denims and other accessories. Initially we will sell our products through our online store at our website. We are also in talks with multi-brand retailers and other stores to retail our products.” he added.
